The staff did not appear disturbed and had resumed working within 30 minutes of the incident.Though the cause of the explosion was electrical, there did not appear to be any disruption of power to the building.Management of the Shell gas station, just next to the newspaper, said that they were unaware of the explosion and expressed their dismay that they were not informed, given that any sort of explosion could have resulted in disaster for the service station as the material they deal with is highly flammable.The manager of the gas station added that they should have been informed, as at the time of the explosion there was a fuel truck next to the wall which borders the two compounds and that the truck was discharging a quantity of gasoline.Gasoline fumes are highly flammable and an open flame is not necessarily needed to ignite the gasoline, the manager said.
